Posted by Robin Thomas under Articles

The answer is yes.

Lately Myspace has gone way to far with CAPTCHA codes. Every time I want to send my friends a comment or message I have to do a CAPTCHA code. It’s insanely crazy! It honestly makes me hate myspace and not want to talk to people on there. Read the rest of this entry »

How Poor Is Poor?

Posted by Robin Thomas under Articles

What is poverty?  “Poverty (also called penury) is deprivation of those things that determine the quality of life, including food, clothing, shelter and safe drinking water, but also “intangibles” such as the opportunity to learn and to enjoy the respect of fellow citizens. Ongoing debates over causes, effects and best ways to measure poverty, directly influence the design and implementation of poverty-reduction programs and are therefore relevant to the fields of international development and public administration.” -wikipedia.com

Clinton. Why She Should Win!

Posted by Robin Thomas under Articles

Clinton vs. Obama

Who should we vote for? The answer is simple. Clinton all the way. Why? Because America as we know it is at it’s very bottom. We need a miracle to save America and Clinton can be that miracle. Clinton first showed us that she cared for America when she tried to get the “Clinton health care plan” approved by the U.S Congress in 1994.  Then in 1997 and 1999 she played a role in the establishment of ” Adoption and Safe Families Act”. She also played a role in the establishment of ” State Children’s Health Insurance Program” and the ” Foster Care Independence Act”.

Attending Colleges Online… Risk Factor?

Posted by Cooltrainer Josh under Articles

I was just offered a chance to make some money this summer, and I jumped at it. I will have to cut my hair (finally 2 1/2 feet long in the front, past my nipples… :( and remove my tongue ring, but it’ll be worth it. However, I must attend a college this fall in order to take the job. And of course, as you may know, it is too late to apply to 90% of 4 year colleges in America for the fall.

Technology That Empowers Me

Empowerment is: having access to information to make proper decisions, having a variety of choices, and having the power to change other peoples minds. Overall empowerment is being able to reach out and communicate with others.

I will not keep silent - On Net Censorship

Posted by Cooltrainer Josh under Articles

“In this time, these days, the censors’ desire is to close our eyes, shut our mouths and close our ears, too.

In many countries, the Internet community is fighting to hold on to its freedom of speech inside the Internet, against attempts at censorship or pushes for restrictive legislation by the state, political groups or other kind of organizations.

The Internet as a medium supports all kind of contents. The final objective of these censorship attempts is to try to block or control the content. However, the focus of their actions is the medium.”

I’ve been worried about net censorship for places like China, Japan, UK, and Australia for a while. It hasn’t been too much of a problem for me in America until recently, and now I must say that it’s truly becoming a problem. If America (and the world in general too) doesn’t wake itself up, it will wake up one day with no freedom of speech, no unrestrained internet access, and literally on a 4 foot leash held firmly by governing institutions, with all activity not only limited, but also monitored (already is with most ISPs), and prosecuted for not following typical government-established protocol.

It is not too late, there are some strong opponents of the laws in America, but I feel for the poor Chinese who are kept so in the dark… it is aggravating thinking that a whole peoples, a rising middle class (that in fact will soon be the largest middle class in the history of mankind) cannot express themselves or publish material that is not to the liking of it’s government. It’s not fair, having so few rights other than to work to support yourself and your family. It is disgusting.

But, this is the idol world that is being created. All man lined to a grid, no one able to speak out. The new world order is fast approaching, hell it’s here, we’re just too blind to see it. We take what happens and just accept it, no matter what it is. They bring it with good pretenses and a bold statement that “it’s better this way” or “do you want your kids exposed” or some blatant garbage like that, then force mediocrity down your throat.

If you find truth in those words and want to know what you can do, speak out! Let yourself known by participating in debates such as this. The more minds that come together, whether agreeing or disagreeing, the more we advocate our rights to freedom of speech. If you disagree with me, argue your point. If you agree, add feedback. It’s one of the few ways little guys can fight back. Get the big boys thinking.

I understand the mentality behind doing such an act, restricting what people can and can’t do, it would create a society with little or no crime amongst poor people, but the rich get to do whatever and get away with it. It’s the way the world has, and always will, work, unless the weak band together against the strong who make the rules. Do you think some advocate of elitism cares what you think? No. Hell, he doesn’t care what anyone other than himself and his supporters, and powerful opposition think. So, the only way to get noticed is TO PARTICIPATE, increase the opposition’s numbers.

Please, shout out. Hope to hear from you!

All my life I’ve totally supported feminists, and women’s rights. I have always felt equal to women, maybe a main reason I never dated; most men see women as slightly inferior, whether they are capable of admitting it (whether out loud or to themselves even) or not.

I saw an article on here saying that feminists have a long way to go, and I must say I disagree, though not wholeheartedly. While woman still experience social and financial draw-backs, like the glass ceiling, I must say that America is one of the most feminized nations in the world; albeit not in literal meaning - in fundamental principle.

I say this for many reasons. American society has shown a drastic slowdown in the past few years; the economy followed suit, and now we are in a recession. I hate to rant as much as people hate to read a rant, but let’s think about this for a second.

Legal drinking age is 21, and typical children’s television is just… way too kiddy. Of course, you could argue the opposite both ways. But look at Europe’s portrayal of the media; hell, I think france has nude news. We are so scared of exposing children to the facts of life, that we grow up in this perpetually shielded, sheltered world, and that in turn makes us totally unprepared for “the real world”.

I’m not suggesting by any means I have this all figured out. Just reflecting on my own opinion. Think about the average American minimum wage worker; they undoubtedly had dreams far beyond what they are currently doing when they were growing up, but social standards and financial issues prevent them from reaching their full potential. I’m not saying this simply because as of this summer I will be a (eric this pisses me off, change this site to standard html or tell me how to do this) <a href=”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEET”>NEET</a> NEET, but because of the way America looks to solve problems in today’s world. We take VERY feminized approaches, making sure no one’s feelings are hurt, or at least the smallest minority; maybe that is the definition of democracy, though.

So, who does “feminization” help? I’ll tell you. The people in power. I’ll tell you why. They make the rules, and they can choose what means to go about doing this; you see in action and psyco thrillers, it’s always some elaborate evil scheme to control mankind; but no, the evil in America is very feminized, in that they go about very slow, meticulous ways to take total control; so they look good while doing it.

Feminism is all about looking good, having a fair facade while truly gripping the masses by the balls. If 9/11 was an inside job, I cannot think of a more prime example; a self-inflicted wound, pointed fingers, radical defense of the women and children of the homeland by taking a war overseas. Very feminized, romantic. I can almost see the women dangling their handkerchiefs out the window to the troops on their way to an airport.

People, this is like the church medieval times, only the scales and methods have changed. Good natured outward appearance, deadly ultimate goal. Think about that.
