I will not keep silent - On Net Censorship 09.04.
“In this time, these days, the censors’ desire is to close our eyes, shut our mouths and close our ears, too.
In many countries, the Internet community is fighting to hold on to its freedom of speech inside the Internet, against attempts at censorship or pushes for restrictive legislation by the state, political groups or other kind of organizations.
The Internet as a medium supports all kind of contents. The final objective of these censorship attempts is to try to block or control the content. However, the focus of their actions is the medium.”

I’ve been worried about net censorship for places like China, Japan, UK, and Australia for a while. It hasn’t been too much of a problem for me in America until recently, and now I must say that it’s truly becoming a problem. If America (and the world in general too) doesn’t wake itself up, it will wake up one day with no freedom of speech, no unrestrained internet access, and literally on a 4 foot leash held firmly by governing institutions, with all activity not only limited, but also monitored (already is with most ISPs), and prosecuted for not following typical government-established protocol.
It is not too late, there are some strong opponents of the laws in America, but I feel for the poor Chinese who are kept so in the dark… it is aggravating thinking that a whole peoples, a rising middle class (that in fact will soon be the largest middle class in the history of mankind) cannot express themselves or publish material that is not to the liking of it’s government. It’s not fair, having so few rights other than to work to support yourself and your family. It is disgusting.
But, this is the idol world that is being created. All man lined to a grid, no one able to speak out. The new world order is fast approaching, hell it’s here, we’re just too blind to see it. We take what happens and just accept it, no matter what it is. They bring it with good pretenses and a bold statement that “it’s better this way” or “do you want your kids exposed” or some blatant garbage like that, then force mediocrity down your throat.
If you find truth in those words and want to know what you can do, speak out! Let yourself known by participating in debates such as this. The more minds that come together, whether agreeing or disagreeing, the more we advocate our rights to freedom of speech. If you disagree with me, argue your point. If you agree, add feedback. It’s one of the few ways little guys can fight back. Get the big boys thinking.
I understand the mentality behind doing such an act, restricting what people can and can’t do, it would create a society with little or no crime amongst poor people, but the rich get to do whatever and get away with it. It’s the way the world has, and always will, work, unless the weak band together against the strong who make the rules. Do you think some advocate of elitism cares what you think? No. Hell, he doesn’t care what anyone other than himself and his supporters, and powerful opposition think. So, the only way to get noticed is TO PARTICIPATE, increase the opposition’s numbers.
Please, shout out. Hope to hear from you!
