Seriously 05.03.

I’ve taken to writing “nonsense” stuff on jerico lately, and I fell like an idiot all them more each time. I don’t really know what this site is for! :P Of course it’s a blogsite for, Eric Hamby, of course, and his friends, but I miss all the older peeps who used to write occasionally! Where do you guys go to read articles? I get bored of BBC and MSN and NPR.

Since I’m here, Ill take the time to tell you something; I found a neat little program that emulates vista programs and software in Windows xp, it’s called vista inspirat; it gives you a see-through toolbar like linux and apple OS’ use, and makes some windows semi-transparent. I like it, but it does take a good bit of system resources for a few simple visual and audio buffs; if you’ve got oogles of ram and nothing to do with it like me (I have 2 gigs I can’t even use), it’s worth checking out!

Also, Eric, as usual, I’ve got a lot to talk to you about; before ADD make me forget again, I’ve got to talk to you asap in MSN or something.

Make sure your using inspirat 2. vista inspirat 1 wont work with all of xp’s newer updates. Though i like the icons and folders better in vista inspirat 1 and have used it for many many years. If you do like Inspirate 1 and dont want to update to version to you need to go to add/remove programs and remove the update “KB925902″. make sure the show updates box is marked or you wont see it. There is also another brand of this that is called “Vista Transformation Pack 7″ wich is the latest version. I have tested both of these over many years through there development and have found Vista Inspirat to be the best by far. For some of you to get an idea of what Inspirat can do you can see my comp here

(The post above has been updated to show the start menu you can make to keep from using the xp one.)

This has been modified to totaly take away the start menu and not just hide it from view. You can find the program to do this with a google search.

How did you get the start menu like that? I didn’t see that option… I’m working with that transparency thing that Inspirat sets your IE homepage to, and I can’t get it to work good… I managed to make my taskbar/start menu semi-transparent, but can’t seem to get that “glass” look, which the program is titled…

When you install inspirat go to :custamized” instalation. unclick the internet explorer, outlook express, and windows movie makes boxes. Also unclick the enable transbar, and enable y’z showdow under the extras catagory. this will ensure that everything works smoothly and will be great for future updates as well. I been playing with these things for years so i have got what works and what doesnt to an art form. the start menu i have can be found here..

you can also google “rocketdock docklets” to find many more such as the program to shut the xp start menu off and not just hide it, and the cpu tool that i use as well. if your going to use the rocket dock i would sugest that you do make away with the xp taskbar and not just hide it or make it transparent.

Ah okay I’ll have to find out how to do that… thanks, google should suffice in finding a quick way to do so. Another computer thing I need to do is find a good DVD burning software program; I’m sampling 6 free open source burners, and I’ll report which is best.

I forgot most of the stuff I had to talkto you about again… only thing I remember is the graphics card thing… I need to talk to you and my other person samiotainiously.
