Management Undone 25.12.
Finding a job in a new town is somewhat frustrating. I would imagine it’s kind of like sex in prison, the kind you want, you can’t get and the kind you can get you don’t want. After talking to manager after manager about getting a job with them I soon realized that managers today don’t have a clue what they’re doing. Here is what I mean.
Ok we have all heard it over and over, the customer comes first. Ok that’s just pure crap. If you’re the manager the customer is not your main concern the employee is. What’s the point of having a thousand customers waiting at the door if you didn’t take care of your employees and now there all gone? O sure an employee can be replaced in about 5 minutes but do you think a customer wants to deal with a new employee every time they come in your door. Why not take care of your employees; no one can serve your customers better than a person happy to be at their work. Someone that’s been there a while and knows exactly what to do and handle any situation. A customer don’t want to hear “I don’t know” from a new employee they want an answer, and from someone that knows what they’re talking about. Employees are more productive, more efficient, and much more of a customer pleaser when they have been doing there job for a while. After an employee has been there a while they know exactly what’s expected of them. They know exactly what to do, when to do it, and where to do it. Why go through training a new employee every week, just take care of the ones you have and it will be better off. You hire employees to take care of the customer, that’s their number one priority is the customer, not yours. Your job is to make sure your employees are happy and have whatever they need to make sure the customer is happy. A happy employee makes a happy customer. A happy customer makes return business. Sure your customer is number one bit makes good business and is a great sales pitch, but imagine how much better it could be if you knew for a face that when that person walking in your doors that all will be taking care of and there happy, and you will know this not only by the smile on their face, but the smile on your employees face.
